Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some questions our customers have asked in the past.
How do I make changes to my account?
Currently we require that you simply send e-mail to support (@ivertex.com).
We are working on an online customer area where you can login to view and make changes to your account, create
folders, change your password, report issues, upload files, access your e-mail, and maintain your e-mail
accounts.
What kind of contract do I have to sign?
There are no long-term contracts to worry about. Our terms are available
on our web site if you want a copy of them, and we bill on a month-to-month basis, so as long as
you keep paying the bill we keep hosting the account for you. If you want a signed contract we'll
be happy to provide you one.
What guarantees do you have?
We have a 30-day money-back satisfaction guarantee, so if you are not happy with your account you
can cancel in the first 30 days at no cost. We also promise to upgrade your site to a
faster server if you become famous overnight and need the extra horsepower. We do not provide Service
Level Agreements (SLAs) because it is too costly to keep track of all the SLAs that are downstream
from us.
Our most important goal is to keep your site up constantly, and to respond quickly to any issues
that arise. We would be pleased to provide direct customer references if you need assurances
of our quality.
How do I register my domain name?
You can register your domain name with any official registrar, including
Network Solutions, DirectNIC and Register.com.
Prices and service offerings from these registrars varies substantially, although the
features you get do not. The registrar also provides other services such as the ability
to transfer your domain name to another hosting provider (see the next question for more details).
To complete a new registration process you will need to provide Primary and Secondary DNS
information to the registrar. The values to use are as follows:
| Primary DNS Name | ns1.ivertex.com |
| Primary DNS IP Address | 63.110.133.13 |
| Primary DNS Name | ns2.ivertex.com |
| Primary DNS IP Address | 63.110.133.14 |
If you would like assistance with your domain name registration our technical staff
will be happy to walk you through the process.
Remember also that you can have multiple domain names pointed to the same account using our
Domain Pointers service.
How do I switch to Ivertex for a domain name I already have?
You must return to the web site where you registered your domain name, and update your account
to indicate that you are using a different hosting provider. This action does NOT actually transfer
your web site from one location to another on the Internet. You must still populate your account
on Ivertex' servers with whatever content you want displayed to your visitors.
To complete a transfer process you will need to provide Primary and Secondary DNS information
to the registrar. The values to use are as follows:
| Primary DNS Name | ns1.ivertex.com |
| Primary DNS IP Address | 63.110.133.13 |
| Primary DNS Name | ns2.ivertex.com |
| Primary DNS IP Address | 63.110.133.14 |
If you would like assistance with your domain name transfer our technical staff
will be happy to walk you through the process.
In the unfortunate circumstance that you cannot get into your account at the registrar to update
the information, or the registrar informs you that you are not authorized to make a change, you
will need to contact the registrar using whatever mechanism they have documented on their web site.
For example, Network Solutions uses a procedure that is completely driven by e-mail, and you will
never get a phone number so you can just call someone. We can give you some tips on this process,
but plan on it taking 6-8 weeks to get resolved in some cases. The most common way to lock yourself
out of the registrar is to try making changes to a domain that you registered long ago with an
e-mail address you no longer have.
I already have an e-mail address, what can I do with Ivertex' e-mail features?
First of all, it's very important to establish your brand. You should be using your
domain name on everything, especially when you give someone your e-mail address. It's like
a 1-800 number. That said, Ivertex e-mail has every option you could dream of. Web-based
access to your e-mail, POP3 and IMAP4 access, forwarding, copying, aliases, you name it and
we've probably got it.
If you really want to keep that @aol.com account you can have all e-mail that is addressed
to your domain forwarded to that account, or split it up across multiple e-mail addresses.
Or, leave a copy on your domain and forward a copy to your personal address. It is very easy
to setup, and very flexible.
